It’s finally time to plan out the details of your trip! You can read my full post on how Disney World’s Fastpass+ system works here.
Now that you have a good handle on what a Fastpass is, you can finally decide what attractions you want to use them on. When my husband and I went to Disney for our honeymoon a few years ago, we made the horrible mistake of wasting a Fastpass on the Dumbo ride(which never has a long wait).
The truth is some rides are not worth using your precious Fastpass on. On the flip side, some rides can have +3 hour waits! Now THOSE are the attractions that are worth your Fastpass.
Here is my guide to what is worth booking in advance:
Absolutely Don’t Use It On
- Mad Tea Party
- Monster’s Inc. Laugh Floor
- It’s A Small World
- Mickey’s PhilharMagic
- Under The Sea~ Journey of The Little Mermaid
- The Barnstormer
- Dumbo the Flying Elephant
- The Magic Carpets of Aladdin
On Busy Days
- Tomorrowland Speedway
- The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
- Haunted Mansion
- Jungle Cruise
- Pirates of the Caribbean
Always
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
- Peter Pan’s Flight
- Splash Mountain
- Space Mountain
- Big Thunder Mountain
- Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
I hope this little tip will make your trip that much more magical!
Stay tuned because in the coming weeks I will fill you in on what to use your fastpasses on at Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom.
This is so helpful! I will be traveling to Disney in June, I took some great notes. Thanks for such an informative article!
Yes! The mountain attractions are always worth the FP+ 🙂
So helpful, my family and I are planning a trip there in the upcoming year! Thanks
So glad I could help!
I can’t believe Disney World has fast passes for Peter Pan’s Flight! Disneyland still doesn’t have it for that ride, and every time we go it’s a total madhouse and we never know if we’ll get to ride it!
Wow! I didn’t know that. I haven’t had the chance to go to Disneyland yet, but I’d love to someday 🙂
This is so helpful for those that are looking to take a trip!
Thank you!
I love this series, Jubilee! Big Thunder Mountain is my favorite Disney ride!

Isn’t it the best?! It’s in my top 5:)
As usual, you’re right on the money. If you can, go during extra magic hours and hit Seven Dwarfs and Peter Pan. Than you can use your fast passes for Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, and Space Mountain.
That’s the best way to do it! I’m so excited that we are going to be staying at a resort for the first time in May. I’m gonna reread your Pop blog for some tips!
We are just getting ready to finish planning our Disney trip! I feel like we definitely would of wasted our fast passes on silly rides. I’ll definitely remember which rides it’s important to save for!
Ooh this is actually such a good resource. I miss Disney! Next time I go back I will def use this!!

Thank you! I hope you can go back soon:)
I love that you put in what not to use it on. I have reassurance that I didn’t flub up previously. We are planning our trip as we speak!
Yay! I’m so glad it was helpful. I hope you have an extra magical trip! ✨
I’m so glad you included what NOT to use it for & why. Sounds like at DL the rides with lines are somewhat different so good to know for when we go to WDW in 2020.
I wish I had this info 2 years back when I visited Disney land. We used our fast pass where we should not have and later ended up waiting for hours in one of the most popular ride. This is very useful information which can be used to preplan the rides you want to enjoy with children and family. Thank you for sharing.
