It’s time for my March goals!
This month I plan to dedicate my time to trying new things. It can be easy to fall into a rut and do the same activities everyday, and this month I want to push myself to try NEW things. For years I have said I have wanted to try the following hobbies, but I haven’t been intentional to make it happen. I know that I probably won’t have time to try all of these hobbies this month, but I want to see how many I can manage to fit in. Whatever I am not able to do this month, I plan on trying before 2019 is over.
- Kickboxing
This is at the top of my list. Kickboxing is something that I have wanted to try for years. I’m hoping that it will be a challenging workout and give me a bit of stress relief.
- SoulCycle
The group class people can’t stop talking about! I’ve had many friends recommend it, and I am hoping to finally give it a try.
- Start a collection
I am still deciding what I want to collect, but I have always found coin collecting fascinating.
- Aerial Yoga
What could be better than flying through the sky? I found a local aerial yoga studio and I think it is something that I would love to try at least once.
- Knitting
I’m the type of person who always needs to be doing something with my hands, whether it be when I am watching TV or listening to an audiobook. Knitting sounds right up my alley!
- Rock Climbing
The only time I have gone rock climbing was when I was 9 years old at 6 flags. I’m planning to give it another shot with my friend Cassandra!
- Wine and Book Club
Books and wine? Count me in! Last year I saw a sign advertising a book club at a nearby winery. I thought, “that would be fun” but have never taken the initiative to join. This month I plan on meeting up with some fellow book lovers.
- Weight Training
I am guilty of sticking to cardio machines at the gym, despite the fact that all I want is to get tone and build muscle. I am not sure if I will have time to fit this one in March, but I plan on working on it throughout 2019.
- DIY home decor project
How many times have I saved DIY projects on Pinterest and sworn that I will try it someday? Well today is that day! My goal is complete at least one DIY project from my Pinterest board.
- Disney DIY Project
AKA Mickey ears. Being a Disney passholder, I have developed a love for unique mickey mouse ears. I decided that this could be a fun/crafty hobby for me to start.
- Baking
Again, back to the Pinterest boards. I have saved many recipes throughout the years, and now it is time for me to actually make some. My husband and I have fallen in love with “Kids Baking Championship”, and I am ready to make some sweets for our home.
- Do a makeup tutorial
Foundation? check. Eyeliner? check.
This is about the extent of my makeup knowledge. I typically lean towards simple makeup looks, but I thought it would be fun to switch things up this year. Sure, I may not get dolled up every single day, but I would love to know that I can “bring it” on special occasions.
Have you taken up any of these hobbies yourself?
Let me know if there is anything else you think I should add to my list!
Crochet fan here! It’s a very relaxing way to pass an afternoon. Have fun with it!
That’s another one I was thinking about. I’ll add it to my list!:)
I’ve always wanted to try aerial yoga too!! I enjoy creating home decor items with air dry clay 💛😊
I’m gonna look into that! I’ve never heard of it.
I’ll let you know how aerial yoga goes❤️
If you go on Pinterest and type in “Air dry clay ideas” there are SO many cool options that pop up and it’s super easy too. 😊 Yes definitely keep me updated 😊
My hobby goal should be to finish all the projects that I’ve already bought the materials for or that I’ve already started but set aside. I need to read about the Happiness project and add that as a goal. P.S. I totally think you should sell your new mouse ears on Etsy.
I love yoga, but I’ve never tried aerial yoga! But it’s definitely something I’d be so excited about trying! I actually started a 3 week yoga challenge today that I’m excited about completing this month!

I love this list! I can relate to so many of your goals. I did kickboxing in college and used to love it. A great workout and super stress reliever! Also, LOVE the idea of wine and book club- my two favorite things! I have to find something like that near me! Thanks for sharing! Can’t wait to see how you do.
These are great things to try. I love kickboxing! This blog post made me realize that I need to try new things myself. Thanks for the encouragement.
Interesting Post. Women mostly after marriage, kids get busy in life and forget her hobbies. This is very good reminder to get involve back in to the hobbies. It also helps to boost self confidence and enjoy life. Am too in to Weight training, zumba, hiking, makeup, kickboxing.
My hobbies this year so far have been blogging and sticking to my workout plan 5/6 days a week. It definitely takes hard work and dedication but the rewards are so worth it! Thanks for sharing!
I love this! Being an expat I have a lot of free/lonely time. This is perfect! I have tried knitting and I started the sweat app for working out. It’s great! It’s helped fill time in my life.
