Whenever I plan a trip to Universal or Disney, I spend approximately half of my planning time on food. I am a big foodie and spend way too much time day dreaming about all the good eats. This week I will be sharing some of my favorite treats from Universal Studios.
- Lard Lad Donuts
As soon as I saw this Donut on Instagram, I knew I needed it. Why wouldn’t you want to eat a donut the size of your head? Not only was it fun to look at, it tasted great as well.
If you are anything like me, you spent your childhood dreaming of the day that you could have butterbeer in real life.
So the verdict? I don’t really like it. *hides from angry mob*. It honestly just doesn’t taste like what I envisioned, but it obviously had to make the list. For novelty alone, it is a must try.
- Hot Butterbeer
Now this is what I envisioned. My husband and I first tried hot butterbeer on our honeymoon. We were instantly hooked. This is by far my favorite sweet that Universal offers. The down side? They only carry it during cold months. If you visit during winter, make sure you get this magical drink!
- Specialty Fudge
Fudge. Enough said. There are many locations that you get their specialized fudge. I loved seeing the creative “Green Eggs and Ham” fudge in Suess landing.
My personal favorite is the cheesecake fudge in Hogsmeade.
For these last two treats I will be venturing out to City Walk.
- Toothsome’s Milkshakes
If you are at all familiar with City Walk, I am sure you are not surprised to see this on my list. Toothsome is famous for their eye catching milkshakes. I opted to try their red velvet(my favorite flavor) and it lived up to the hype. They have 11 unique options, and we can’t wait to try them all.
- Chips and Guacamole
This may seem a little out of left field, but I would be doing you an injustice if I didn’t tell you about our favorite savory snack. Antojitos has chips and guac to die for! We stumbled upon this restaurant when we first got into town.
We tried their Queso Fundido, Salsa Trio, and their Guacamole. While it was all delicious, the guacamole stole the show. They come to your table and make it in front of you, which we thought was a fun touch. We ended up coming back the next night because we couldn’t stop thinking about it! No regrets.
We are planning on going back to Universal in May, so comment any other goodies you know about. Sharing is caring!
