Oh boy, this week has been wonderful!
- In 2017, I worked as an extra on a powerful film called, Boy Erased. This was one of my favorite days on set, as I got to work with Lucas Hedges and Nicole Kidman. This week, I finally got the opportunity to rent the film and I found out that I made the final cut.
On January 31st, my husband and I celebrated our 4 year “first date” anniversary.
Someday I will share all the lovey dovey details of how our relationship began, but here are a few things you should know:
- When I was living in Harrisburg, PA and was suddenly without a roof over my head, my husband (who was a mere acquaintance at the time) found me a place to stay.
- During the first week of our friendship, we missed each other so much that we spoke on the phone while watching the same Netflix show. When I casually mentioned that I was craving fries, he drove to my home in a snow storm to bring me some.
- On our first date, my husband bought me a little flounder stuffed animal and roses. We went to our favorite book store, bought a copy of The Lion, The Witch, And the Wardrobe, and he took me to a romantic restaurant.
We had plans to celebrate this past Thursday, but I had no idea what he had in store. When I walked into our kitchen, I found a little flounder stuffed animal, flowers, a card, and two candles. I burst into tears when I realized what he was doing: He was recreating our first date.
Next, he made me put on a blindfold and get into the car. I had no idea where we were going, and I am not going to lie…. being blindfolded in Atlanta traffic was a HUGE trust exercise for me. Once we parked, he took my hand and walked me to Atlanta’s capitol. Our first kiss was at the capitol in Harrisburg. I will spare you the mushy and amazing speech he gave me at the steps.
We got in the car and made our way to the next spot. A coffee shop/bookstore! It was perfect on our first date, and it was perfect on our anniversary.
Lastly, we headed to Yard House for dinner!
To say that I felt spoiled is a HUGE understatement. I am so blessed to be married to such a thoughtful man.
Today we had the joy of babysitting our friend’s sweet little boy, Jaxon! I only have one thing to say ya’ll: BABY FEVER IS REAL. He was such a joy and I can’t wait until we have one of our own someday.
Tomorrow is Superbowl Sunday! Atlanta has been flooded with more traffic than I thought possible. I can’t wait for the city clear out next week. Though I may not be huge on football, I am a huge fan of hilarious Superbowl commercials. Bring it on!
A little extra special news: On Monday, I am going to be working as an extra on a film that I had been praying to get on. I can’t say what it is, but I can say that it is a childhood dream fulfilled!
And lastly, here are the books I read this week: The Total Money Makeover, Twilight(oh, nostalgia), and Behold The Dreamers.
What was the highlight of your week?
