Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

This year we had the pleasure of attending Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party!

This is an extra ticketed even that takes place at Magic Kingdom from August 17th-October 31st. The tickets vary in price depending on the day that you choose to go. We were able to get a discount on our tickets because we are annual passholders at Disney World.

You can get into the park at 4pm with your party ticket, but the festivities don’t begin until 7pm. So what does MNSSHP offer?

You can take your little ones trick-or-treating at various locations throughout the park. They have glowing balloons to mark each candy location. Although we didn’t participate, you don’t have to be a kid to take advantage of getting massive amounts of candy. They provide small bags at the front of the park, but you can bring your own bags to get as much as you want. There is NO limit, so if you love candy make sure you come prepared!

Special Characters

There are numerous characters who make special appearances just for the party. Villains are on almost every corner! Some of the characters are very high in demand, I’m looking at you Sally and Jack, so make sure you get in line early.

Halloween Decorations

They certainly go all out during this time of year. One of my favorite things about the party was looking at all of the details they put up. It quickly puts you in the holiday spirit!

Spooky Snacks

This is one of the things that I was most excited for. Disney brings out fun snacks that are only available during the party. We had a chance to try a good amount of them. Our favorite? The Hades Nachos!

Happy HalloWishes

During the party, they offer a unique fireworks show. It was cool to see something new, but I would be lying if I didn’t say I was underwhelmed. I don’t know what I was expecting, but I think I was hoping there would be projections on the castle. It was mostly just fireworks set to classic villain songs. It was still fun but not quite what I expected.

“Boo-to-You” Halloween Parade

This was the highlight of the party! All I can say is WOW! All of our favorite villains come out to play in this incredible production. I can confidently say that I believe this is the best parade Disney has to offer. The villains and dancers interact with you as they make their way down Main street, U.S.A.

  • Make sure you get to the parade and fireworks show early(preferably half an hour).
  • Check out Pirates of the Carribean and Space Mountain! These rides offer special surprises during the party.
  • Don’t stress about riding all of the rides. Pick which ones are important to you and make them a priority
  • Go in with a plan of what foods you want to try

  • Take advantage of all of the little things the party has to offer. We found a hilarious light in Gaston’s Tavern. As we were walking out the door, I almost had a heart attack. Gotta love the little spooky touches!
  • Dress up! You don’t have to wear a costume, but it certainly makes things more fun.

We had a blast partying the night away. We can’t wait to try it again next year!

Have you gone to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party? What are your thoughts on this special event?

  1. I went to a party last year and my favorite part BY FAR was the Hocus Pocus stage show! I’m not sure if they’re doing it this year but it was so amazing, definitely my favorite show I’ve seen at a Disney park!

  2. Haven’t been to the party, we’ve been there to appreciate the decor though – so beautiful! I hope to be able to attend though! I didn’t know you can get the tickets at a discounted price for Annual Pass Holders – will look into that! Thanks!

One thing I may suggest if you do NOT plan to attend the party, is to check the party dates, and avoid going to Disney’s Magic Kingdom on that date. If you don’t have a special ticket/wristband, at 7pm (when the party is scheduled to begin) you will be asked by a cast member to leave the park – nicely of course! 😏 Leaving you very disappointed to have to cut your park day short. This may or may not have happened to us last year! Haha! …. it did!

Also, I have a peanut allergy child, and Disney is always very accommodating. I know the party includes, some sort of ‘special’ candy bags or candy ‘stations’ for the peanut/nut allergy guests. Which is phenomenal if you have – like me, a child with these allergies.

  3. I have never been, but I hope to attend one day! It just looks so amazing and fun. I’d love to dress up for the event, try all of the special treats, and watch the amazing parades and shows that they have to offer

  4. That looks like a lot of fun! I wish we had been able to take our boys when they were little. It’s funny, now we live in Florida, it our teen boys have no interest in Mickey:) Great pics and info!

  5. Ohh. I have been to Disney during 4th of July, Thanksgiving, and Christmas but never for Halloween. Maybe one day soon we can enjoy with the family. I have a teenager now but I will always be that kid at heart lol. Great pics.

  6. Disney really does go all out, they have some deep pockets and they pay attention to the little details which can make the entire experience fun you just have to watch and catch all the nuances.

  7. OMG this is awesome, this is one thing that I want to do. I’ve always herd that it incredible that time of the year, and I believe it, I’ve seen many photos and make me want it to go every-time.

  8. Disney looks like so much fun, and I believe you that you had fun, the food looks amazing, wouldn’t mind to try out a few choice pieces myself, glad to hear you had fun.

    1. They would! All of the kids looked like they were living the dream:)

  9. Sounds like so much fun!! I love that everyone is allowed to trick-or-treat & that there is no limit on how much candy you can get. The little treats look so cute & yummy, too!!

  10. Giving me all the more excuses to book a visit to Disney! I haven’t been since I was little and it would be great to go back (maybe without any kids with me for selfish reasons!)

  11. Wow, really great pictures. We’ve been there before but didn’t take nice pictures like you did.

  12. It must be such an awesome experience to have a Halloween celebration that was not scary! Mickey’s too adorable to be part of a Halloween party. lol

    1. Thank you, I really appreciate it! It is such a great place to spend Halloween:)

  13. I think when its Disney, it is expected that it isn’t real scary because of being mindful to their first clients – the kids. Glad you had a great time!
