I came across this idea on Pinterest and have loved it ever since! So what is a Power Hour?
Once a day you take an hour to nourish you mind, body, and soul. So for 20 minutes you focus on your mind, 20 minutes on your body, and 20 minutes on your soul. It is the perfect way to practice self care, especially if you arenโt already practicing it and donโt know where to begin.
So here are some quick ideas for what you might do during each segment:
Mind
Meditation
Reading a fictional book
Journaling
Coloring
Sudoku
Body
Walking
Yoga
Dancing
Cardio
Pilates
Stretching
Soul
Playing an instrument
Listening to a podcast
Reading a non-fiction book
Watching a TED talk
Baking/cooking
Starting a DIY
This has been a key to self care for me. It helps me make sure that I am taking care of all the different sides of myself. Have you tried a power hour before? Would you ever want to make this a daily ritual? Let me know in the comments!
I love this idea! I try to do some meditation and yoga at the end of each day and it does help to relax me. Great post!
Thank you! It has really helped me. I’ve been wanting to try meditation more, it is very difficult for me
Same here. It’s really hard to get my brain to chill out and just stop thinking about everything.
I love this! I haven’t of it before – will need to start doing this consciously!
It has been a huge help for me! It is definitely a great investment into myself:)
It would be nice to do in a work lunchtime
It sounds like a great idea. Thanks for sharing ๐
Great idea! Often times we focus on our outer being, our physical self, and not so much on our souls, our inner most being. ๐๐๐ฝ
Love this idea! Thanks for the suggested activities to get me started.
Wow, love this idea! Might try it this weekend and post about it on my blog, if you donโt mind?
Think it sounds like a great part of a day ๐
Great idea! I also give myself a weekly sabbath rest. That is, I schedule 24 hours of non-work. Usually I clean my house on Saturday and do meal prep or whatever for the week but I quit at 3:00. Then I determine not to anything I consider work until 3:00 on Sunday. Anything I find relaxing, like gardening, baking or sewing, I do not consider work. I think God knew we needed to give ourselves a weekly break of non-work.
I love this. Im going to try it
