What Should You NOT Change About Yourself?

It’s week 18 of 52 List Happiness!

List the things about yourself that you don’t need to change:

  • My desire to be organized
  • My love of books
  • Being a dreamer
  • My physical apprearance
  • My love for my family
  • Being empathetic
  • The hobbies I enjoy
  • My personality
  • My passion for traveling

I thought this prompt was really interesting. So often we focus so much of our energy on what we want to change about ourselves. It was refreshing to appreciate the good.

What should you NOT change about yourself?

  1. Kindness, compassion, love of animals, being creative, being willing to take a risk in the kitchen, loving the people I do, keeping boundaries in place for those who don’t respect me… All the fun things!

  2. You are absolutely right. We tend to focus on what we want to change. Taking a look at what’s “right” about us shifts our perspective.
    As we acknowledge the good, the negative will often just fade away.

  3. Love this list and it’s a great topic! I’ve learned NOT to change the positive energy I give into the world. People have called me a, “goody goody” and a “goody tushu.” I realized when they call me this, I’ve worked really hard TO BE that person because I’ve had a lot of hard years and I’m not going back to them because I love who I am <3

  4. Great question for readers to reflect on. I love posts that really make me think. I believe one of the biggest things I shouldn’t change about myself is the love I have for people & wanting to see them achieve their goals ! It’s so easy to want to change all these bad habits about ourselves , but it’s also refreshing to acknowledge our good habits and personality traits . (:
